The Kenmore Intuition earned high scores in our cleaning and suction tests. It performed best against common soils such as pet hair, breadcrumbs and cereal. However, the two most difficult tests for the Intuition were kitty litter and loose flour on a hardwood surface. However, these materials were difficult for each of the upright vacuum cleaners we tested. At its worst, the Kenmore needed 5 passes to suck up all the kitty litter we laid out on the floor.
Operational costs for the Kenmore Intuition are just a little bit above average for every upright vacuum. The Kenmore Intuition will run you around $25 per year for filters and $41.98 in bags each year. As technology moves forward, bagless vacuums are much more the norm.
Weighing in at around 19 pounds and standing 2.92 feet tall, the Intuition is among the heaviest upright vacuums in our lineup. The power cord can reach as far out as 30 feet, letting you cover some serious ground in your home. Additionally, the hose is able to extend an additional 10 feet. This vacuum’s cleaning path is pretty wide at 14.5 inches across, the second widest in our lineup. It didn’t take us long to put assemble the vacuum – 6 minutes total from taking it out of the box to completely assembled.
The Intuition can be noisy, but its 75-dBA level is surprisingly quiet for a vacuum this large. You’ll still want to use headphones and listen to music while the Intuition is working, but the vacuum isn’t so noisy as to be a disruption.
The power switch can be found on the handle as are the settings for carpet and hard floors. When attempting to get pet fur out of the carpet, the Intuition has a pet brush which comes with plastic “paws” to snag hair. Check for the best deal at Amazon.com.
Vacuum bags have been losing popularity in upright vacuums. However, the Kenmore Intuition provides many features that compensate adequately for any inconvenience, plus if you’d rather have a bagged unit, this one is a good selection to avoid exposure to allergens. On board this upright vac, you’ll see a full bag indicator to keep the vacuum bag from overfilling. Also, this model comes with a QR code, or a barcode, inside allowing you to use your smartphone so you can scan it to reorder the proper type of vacuum bag, preventing any confusion when you need to replace your bags.
This upright vacuum cleaner comes with several accessories and on-board housing that keeps tools organized. With this model, you’ll get an extension wand, upholstery tool, dusting brush, crevice tool. The upholstery brush is soft and has short bristles with a wide cleaning path and a tight hold for the hose.
